Leaders – Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.
LOT is a vibrant urban organization located in Brooklyn, New York. This mentoring and development program founded by Minister Lamor Whitehead of Brooklyn, enriches lives, emboldens confidence and expands options of our youth by building strong leaders in both the classrooms and in our communities.
We are committed to providing educational opportunities, mentoring, athletic training, and opportunities to travel abroad to learn about other cultures. Measure our progress against five criteria, which indicate to us that a child’s life direction has been changed: connection to faith, connection to a caring adult and a positive peer group, commitment to graduating, and a plan for the future. At LOT, we believe that cultivating our youth’s sense of empowerment and connectedness is the key to creating positive change in our communities.
Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) is an inner city mentoring and activity program which will focus on various aspects negatively impacting the local communities in and surrounding the boroughs of Brooklyn, New York. The scope of the program will focus on residents of all ages and the challenges this population faces. Some of the challenges include but are not limited to youth without adult mentorship, youth financial literacy, entrepreneurship, teenage pregnancy and physical activities. In regards to addressing adult issues some that will be covered under our objectives will be: career changes, counseling and agency referral for battered men & woman, drug abuse, and improving self-esteem. The objective will be to create a one on one mentoring program, adult counseling services, safe sporting events and activities. Another aspect will cover healthy lifestyles and healthy hygiene for both youth and adults, which will include nutrition, avoiding STD’s and referral to proper agencies when applicable, through our alliance with the Brooklyn Borough Presidents office.
